Andrew Paul Woolfolk II was an American saxophonist.

He was born on October 11, 1950, in Texas, U.S.

Woolfolk played in the United States School in Orleans, France school band during his father’s military deployment.

He was a longtime member of the band Earth, Wind & Fire.

Woolfolk joined Earth, Wind & Fire in 1972, in time for their fourth studio album. The band had major hits including “Shining Star,” “September,” “Boogie Wonderland,” and “Let’s Groove.”

He also played saxophone for artists including Phil Collins; Level 42; and Earth, Wind & Fire bandmate Philip Bailey.

Woolfolk was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Earth, Wind & Fire in 1999.

In 2017, Woolfolk was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame.

Andrew Paul died on April 24, 2022, after a long illness at the age of 71.
