Drunk Bachelorette Contestant Ryan M. Explains His Behavior

Ryan McDill, who is now known as the worst Bachelorette contestant ever, is explaining his drunken antics — well, kind of. In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, the 28-year-old “junkyard specialist,” who got seriously sloshed during the premiere episode of Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette on Monday night, explains he knew it wasn’t going anywhere with the girls, so he took the night into his own hands.

“I wanted to go on [the show] for the experience and everything,” McDill told ET on Tuesday, May 19. “I wasn’t interested in Kaitlyn, but was interested in Britt. I felt it was obvious Britt wasn’t going to be the one, so I just started being entertaining and got way too drunk, started acting crazy, and it turned into gold.”

While most wouldn’t consider it “gold,” McDill’s debauchery was a first for the ABC franchise after host Chris Harrison was forced to ask him to leave the show.

“At first I thought he would be adversarial,” Chris Harrison told ET via satellite of former contestant Nikki Ferrell’s ex. “I was like, ‘Who knows what’s going to happen, this guy might punch me!’ But when he came out and saw me on the front porch and he realized what was going to happen he just kind of sunk.”

The Bachelorette airs Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m.
