Who is Tae Heckard?

Tae Heckard was born in Seoul, South Korea, on 14 April 1978 – her zodiac sign is Aries and she holds South Korean nationality. She is an actress and an Instagram star, who is perhaps still best known for having appeared in several episodes of the romantic comedy series “The Game”, which aired from 2006 to 2015 and starred Hosea Chanchez, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Coby Bell – the story follows a group of girls who are dating professional footballers, and the series was a success, as it won five awards and was nominated for 25 others.

Early life and education

Tae was raised an only child in Seoul by her father who was an insurance agent, and her mother who was a lawyer. She grew up watching movies and TV series with her mother, and began taking acting lessons at the age of seven. Tae was a member of her elementary school’s drama club, and appeared in many plays performed there, before she enrolled at a high school at which she continued appearing in school plays, and joined the local theatre as well. After matriculation in 1996, Tae didn’t pursue a college degree, but worked on her acting career, however, she also  worked several other jobs to financially support herself for the following seven years, before she launched her career as an actress.

Career as an actress

Tae made her debut film appearance in 2003, when she portrayed the Female Interest in the short video “Busta Rhymes & Mariah Carey Feat. Flipmode Squad: I Know What You Want”, and in the same year appeared as Nokio’s Girlfriend in another short video – “Dru Hill: I Love You”.

In 2006, Tae portrayed the supporting character Tonya in the comedy crime movie “ATL”, starring T.I., Lauren London and Evan Ross, and which is about four high school students who are preparing for their lives after matriculation.

She went on to appear in another short video “Ne-Yo: Because of You” in 2007, portraying the Girl at the Club, and her next performance was in 2012 when she played Rochelle Davis in the comedy movie “Back Then”, written and directed by Danielle L. Ross.

Two of Tae’s most recent appearances have been in the 2014 romantic movie “Getting Even”, directed and written by Beverly Orozco, and in which she portrayed Carmen Boti, and the comedy series “#BlackAF” in which she played Peaches in two episodes in 2020.

As an Instagram star, Tae has gathered over 920,000 followers onto her account, and has uploaded nearly 5,000 pictures, mostly funny pictures taken during her everyday life.

Both Tae and the famous American basketball player Brandon Jennings kept their relationship a secret for two years, before in 2014 announced that they were together, after they were seen by their fans on numerous occasions. In 2015, the two married in a private ceremony attended by their closest friends and family, and on 5 November of the same year, Tae gave birth to their son Brandon Byron Jennings.

Before meeting Tae, Brandon was in a long-term relationship with the American singer Teyana Meshay Jacqueli Shumpert – the two also became engaged in 2013,  and it’s widely believed that Brandon called off the engagement because he was cheating on Teyana with Tae, and eventually decided to marry her instead.

As of August 2020, Tae is married to Brandon and they have a son together.

Hobbies and other interests

Tae likes to spend her free time drinking coffee at her favorite café with her favorite people, while gossiping about random things.

She is a huge fan of basketball, and her favorite player is the late Kobe Bryant.

She likes to travel and had been all around the USA before her son was born, and she is today mostly focused on spending her time with him.

Tae is a lover of animals with horses being her favorites and although her son has asked her for a pet dog, Tae has declined, stating her son wouldn’t care for the dog but would only pet him.

Who is Tae’s husband Brandon Jennings?

Brandon Jennings was born in Compton, California USA, on 23 September 1989 – his zodiac sign is Libra and he holds American nationality. He is best known for having played for teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for nine seasons.

Brandon was raised by his mother Alic Knox, as his father died when he was very young; he has a half-brother, Terrence Phillips who also played basketball, at the University of Missouri.

Brandon began playing basketball while attending Dominguez High School, then switched to Oak Hill Academy from which he matriculated in 2007. He enrolled at the University of Arizona where he started playing for the Arizona Wildcats, but decided to drop out, and became the first American to skip college, and join the Euroleague.

He started playing for Lottomatica Roma competing in the Italian Serie A on 16 July 2008, but in the following year joined the NBA, playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. He stayed with the Bucks until 2013, when he signed a $25 million contract with the Detroit Pistons, then three years later he was traded to Orlando Magic, before signing with New York Knicks on 8 July 2016.

On 1 March 2017, Brandon started playing for the Washington Wizards, but then decided to move to China and play for the Shanxi Brave Dragons, competing in the Chinese Basketball Association, staying with them until 9 December 2017. Brandon went on to sign with the Wisconsin Herd, but only two months later signed a new multi-year contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Brandon is a philanthropist, who donated $50,000 to those hit by the L’Aquila earthquake in 2009, and he also took part in the charity soccer match Showdown in Chinatown, organized by Steve Nash in New York City on 24 June 2010.
